Tweetchat: Accepting Your Diabetes

Accepting Diabetes

Accepting Diabetes

Introduction

The tweetchat this week will take place on Tuesday 28th January between 8:00pm and 9:00pm and will be hosted by Leanne Ogden (@Oggy2203). The @OurDiabetes account will be retweeting her questions to ensure you know when to respond but if you aren’t already following Leanne, maybe now is the time to start… and here’s why…

About Leanne

Hiya! Im Leanne! (Oggy2203) I’m 17 years old and I was diagnosed at age 14! I’ve known diabetes for just over 3 years, and I am on injections. I am going on a pump at the start of February and I’m super excited!

I have chosen the subject of ‘Accepting Your Diabetes’ because it took me about 2 years to accept my diabetes. Going from a “perfect” life to having to inject 4 times a day was not great as you all know and I still go through phases of non acceptance. I would like to know how you come to terms with accepting your diabetes; and how you deal with the ups and downs.
