The tweetchat this week will take place on Tuesday 16th September between 8:00pm and 9:00pm and will be hosted by QISMET (@QISMETorguk).
The @OurDiabetes account will be retweeting their questions to ensure you know when to respond but if you aren’t already following @QISMETorguk, maybe now is the time to start… and here’s why…
QISMET is an independent body that manages the quality of self-management courses and services across England. Self-management for us is about supporting people with health conditions to develop the knowledge, confidence and skills to live as well as they can. From training of peers to deliver courses to clinicians, we want to make sure self-management support is accessible and works for people living with long-term health conditions. We’d love to talk about your experiences of accessing and receiving self-management support (from courses, groups to direct from health care professionals), and what helps you when it comes to the self-management of your diabetes.
Participating in the tweetchat
If you haven’t participated in a tweetchat before or are unsure how to participate in the chat, everything you need to know is explained in the article Explaining Tweetchats.
Take a look at the questions that will be asked, consider reading some of the linked material, have a think about your answers and join in on Tuesday with your thoughts – it’s as simple as that!

Question 2: How did you find out about this support? What made you go for it?
Question 3: How much was the self-management support about the clinical stuff or the emotional and social side of things?
Question 4: What is the biggest challenge you have with support for your self-management of your diabetes?
Question 5: What advice would you give other people with diabetes when it comes to courses and self-management support?
